Astro Boy world premiere at New York Comic Con 2009

Summit Entertainment sneak peek at the upcoming Astro Boy CGI film produced by Imagi Entertainment due out in 10/23/09 will be shown at this years NYCC. The exclusive presentation will take place at the IGN Theater from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm on Sunday 2/8/09. IDW plans to publish two comic book mini-series tied to film and Jazwares is producing a line of Astro Boy toys. Summit Entertainment will also preview "Knowing" -science fiction action/thriller- from director Alex Proyas and "The Hurt Locker" -thriller- directed by Kathryn Bigelow. via: IMAGI

Konami loses battle with Upper Deck over Yu-Gi-Oh! playing cards

A Court decision in California and Europe denied Konami’s efforts to stop The Upper Deck Co. from continuing to distribute Japanese manga Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Upper Deck will continue to distribute market and sell Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG products in territories outside of Asia. Upper Deck has been producing Yu-Gi-Oh! cards for the last 8 years. Konami Digital Entertainment announced it was taking back all operational and business aspects of Upper Deck’s 8-year-old trading card game immediately. via playthings

Fox teams up with SSD to make live-action TV series "City Hunter" created by: Tsukasa Hojo

Fox has signed an agreement with Korean production company SSD to produce and distribute a live-action TV series Created by Tsukasa Hojo. “City Hunter” manga originally appeared in “Shonen Jump". Fox TV Studios and SSD will joint-produce 13 episodes to be distributed worldwide. Korean actor Chung Woo-sung will star in the series (marking the first Asian actor to headline a U.S. TV drama)and other Hollywood stars will also be joining the filming that will take place in Tokyo and Seoul starting next year. via: ICV2.com

Mr. at the the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin

Artist Mr. from Japan is continuing his year long solo show at the Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin in Paris, France. Kurokami Animation broadcasting in Japan, U.S and Korea

Bandai Entertainment in will, produce Kurokami animated. Kurokami series will be aired 1/8/2009 in Japan on TV ASAHI at 2:40 a.m. U.S. on ImaginAsian TV (IATV) at 8:00pm 1/8/2009 and Korea on January 10:00pm on 1/9/2009 on AniBOX. Kurokami is directed by: Tsuneo Kobayashiis, based on a manga by Korean creative team Young Lim Dall and Park Sung Woo. A high school student Keita lost his mother when he was young. Now living on his own, meets a mysterious girl named Kuro. Kuro tells a story of: if a person runs into another person that looks just like them, they would die.
